Bengaluru, Oct 2: As many as fifteen engineers have reportedly been injured following a blast which took place at the Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) plant located at Yelahanka, on Friday morning.
According to reliable sources, the blast took place following a gas leak, while commissioning a turbine at the 370-MW capacity gas based plant in the wee hours today.
Following a gas lead a big fire erupted and it was put down within a few minutes and thus averted a major fire incident, the sources said.
Among the 15 Engineers, working at the plant, with one of them in critical condition, with burn injuries had been rushed to hospitals, immediately after the incident.
The sources said that an inquiry is being conducted to ascertain the root-cause for the Gas leak which had led to the blast.
