Kasaragod, January 29: Indian Union Muslim League Kerala state general secretary and former minister P K Kunhalikutty told media persons in his residence in Malappuram on Saturday that he was facing death threat from quotation gangs ( hired killers) from Mangalore.
Media persons called on him in his residence on Saturday following reports that his personal security gunman had reported that Kaunhakikutty was facing death threat from quotation gangs.
Confirming the report Kunhalikutty told media persons that he was receiving threatening calls from mafia gangs from Mangalore. He also revealed the shocking information that his co-brother Rauf, who married his wife's sister, was behind the conspiracy to murder him.
He said that he had proof that Rauf had arranged hired killers in Mangalore. Besides, he said Rauf was also making morphed sex CDs to tarnish his image. He said the CD was being made in Malappuram.
He said the purpose behind the blackmailing was that he expected help from him from the next United Front Government in which Kunhalikutty would wield power. “Since Rauf knew that I would not help him this time he has is now trying to kill me”, said Kunhalikutty.
It may be recalled that Rauf had helped Kunhalikutty when he was embroiled in a Kozhikode based sex scandal in 1998. Kunhalikutty in turn had helped Rauf when he became a minister later.
Kunhalikutty wanted the government to initiate the probe into the alleged threat on his life.
Meanwlile, the state police have beefed up security for Kunhalikutty in the wake of the threat to his life from mafia gangs.
