Kasaragod February 2 : Police have identified the murderers who allegedly stabbed Upendra 26, a resident of Pannipara and an autorickshaw driver here on Tuesday. Four youths are under the observation of the police while another accused escaped to the UAE.
According to sources, Fazal Rahman, Nazer, Khaissal of Anangoor and Rishad form Nellikunu are the suspects in the case. Police suspected that the prime accused in the case Abdullha Kunnhi of Kumbla evaded the police attention and escaped to the UAE after the murder.
All the suspects had made arrangements for their escape to the Gulf, but meanwhile the police spread the dragnet for them. According to police, it was a well planned murder executed to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere of the place. The objective of the murderers was to wreak vengeance for the murder of Rishad of Battampara, two weeks ago. Police have also got information on those who had helped the assailants with money and shelter to commit the murder.
P C Upedran, 26, a native of Thiruvanthapuram and also a resident of Pannipara was found dead in an isolated place on Jan 24 by school going students who informed the locals about the murder. The local people reported it to the nearby police station. The body was found in a secluded cashew farm in Pannipara. Upendran's wife had also reported to the police that her husband was missing since the previous night.
