Mangalore, February 5: For the better functioning of the paperless office process, initiated by the former Deputy Commissioner V Ponnuraj, a new work station has been launched in the Office of Deputy Commissioner.
District In-charge Minister Krishna J Palemar on Saturday formally inaugurated the work station situated next to the DC's chamber in presence of DC Subodh Yadav, Additional DC Prabhakar Sharma and MCC Commissioner KN Vijayaprakash.
Later speaking to media persons DC Yadav said that the work station will pave the way for better functioning of paperless office and also reduce the required space for all the staff of the DC office.
Both internet and intranet facility will be provided to all the computers in the workshop, as most of the staff will be busy in online duties updating the status of applications throughout the district, he said.
The DC also said that a legal advisor will also be appointed for the office to look after the various legal matters as per the direction of state government within a week. A retired Chief Judicial Magistrate level officer is expected to take charge of the legal affairs of the district administration, he added.
