Mangalore, February 8: Mangalore City police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh has placed Mangalore Rural Police Inspector B R Lingappa under suspension for allowing a live band of sorts to function in a licensed pub in his jurisdiction.
The disciplinary action follows a raid carried out by Panambur ACP on the pub located at Thokkottu junction on the Konaje road on Saturday night and based on his report, the suspension orders were passed late on Monday.
Speaking to media person Singh said that Lingappa has been suspended because he apparently failed to stop the illegal activities that were taking place within the jurisdiction of his circle.
Commissioner said that he dealt with Lingappa strictly following the raid on the “Bouncer,” pub in Thokkottu.

Based on credible information that obscene and erotic dances and live band were being run in 'Bouncer Pub' till late night, police had conducted a raid under the direction of Puttamadaiah on Saturday night.
The pub located upstairs of Sarovar Bar and Restaurant in Thokkottu junction was started a year ago and was run by one Mahesh Bhoja Shetty.
Circle Inspector Lingappa was kept out of the team that raided the pub, from where six persons were arrested including five girls.
