Kasaragod February 11: A pack of stray dogs mauled a student in Kaikambha on Friday morning. The street dogs attacked him when a group of students were waiting for the school bus in Kaikamba. Nisar (8), a II standard student of Kodiyambyil Tani English Medium School and son of Abdul Rahman was mauled by the dogs causing severe injuries in his neck and jaw.
The incident occurred when the students were standing in the bus shelter awaiting the school bus. Other students managed escape afraid of the pack of street dogs. Nisar was later admitted to the General Hospital here after being given primary medical aid at the Mangalpady government hospital.
Locals said that though they had complained to the authorities about the ferocious pack of street dogs in the past, the authorities did not take any action. The school and Madrasa going students are finding it difficult to walk on the streets due to the dog menace.
