Mangalore, February 18: A highway traffic accident involving a passenger bus and a lorry injured at least six people including the bus driver on Thursday night at Adamkudru near Jappinamogaru on the outskirts of the city.
The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals.
The accident occurred at around 9:15 pm when the lorry driver lost control over his vehicle and hit the oncoming bus bearing registration number KA-19 F-2890. The bus was plying from Kasaragod to Mangalore, while the lorry (MH-11 AL-455) was moving towards Kochi from this coastal city.
According to the Ullal police, the over speed driving and negligence of the lorry driver, who has been identified as Nandakumar, was the main reason for the accident.
One of the bus passengers has lodged a complaint against the lorry driver at Ullal police station.
