BJP govt completed 1,000 days of struggle for power: Bangarappa
February 20, 2011
Udupi, February 20: BJP government's one thousands days struggle for the seat (power) can not be termed as an achievement, said former CM S Bangarappa.
He was replying to press persons on the BJP's convention organized to mark 1000 days in power in the state. There were many chief ministers who served for over 1000 days. For how long you are in power is immaterial. What is important is what developmental programmes you have designed for the poor and needy. Governance is not simply wasting time or counting days, he said.
On Yedyurappa's call (at the 1000 days convention) to finish JD(S), Bangarappa said, ``Yedyurappa once gives a call to finish Congress, next to finish JD(S). Election is the time to finishing a political party. Let him face the election, who knows people may finish his BJP only''.
"It is true that he (Yedyurappa) successfully completed 1000 days in power. But did he bring respect to his seat?'', Bangarappa questioned.
In a union of states like India, state budget should always depend on the allocation made to state in the union budget. Yedyurappa presenting the state budget prior to Union budget means, he lacks common sense, Bangarappa remarked.
