Mangalore, February 25: In a horrendous revenge, a group of miscreants, allegedly belonging to a saffron group, murdered a man with a criminal back ground on Friday afternoon at Charavu near Gurupura.
The deceased has been identified as Kabeer, who was one of the accused in two murder cases including that of Sukhananda Shetty.
The incident occurred at around 12:40 pm, just a furlong away from the house of the deceased.
According to preliminary sources, the assailants who came in a Scorpio, tried to crush Kabeer, who was going somewhere along with his two friends, who have been identified as Sarfaraz and Nazeer.
Although Kabeer and his friends managed to escape from the accident bid, the assailants immediately surrounded them and assaulted with lethal weapons before fleeing the scene. Kabeer died on spot while his friends suffered serious injuries.
When the police rushed to the spot, a bleeding body of Kabeer was lying on the ground. His mobile phone was lying beside him.
Mangalore City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, who also visited the spot made arrangements to shift the body to a Hospital in Mangalore for postmortem. The injured have later been admitted to Tejaswini hospital in Mangalore.
Although the exact reason for the brutal murder is yet to be ascertained, police are of the suspicion that this murder may be an act of revenge from a group of people.
