Bhatkal, March 1: Engineer Usman Ruknuddin, former Vice President of prestigious Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen died of cardiac arrest in Vijayawada on Monday, February 28. He was 72.
He was the founder member of Shams English Medium School. He had served as office bearer and the member of executive committee in several socio-academic and religious organizations such Anjuman, Jamathul Muslimeen, Thanzeem.
It is said he was suffering from heart problem since two months and had returned home four days ago from the hospital.
He is survived by four sons, three daughters, two wives and a large number of relatives.
The management of Shams School declared a school holiday as a mark of respect for the departed soul.
He was a civil engineer by profession and had worked in gulf countries.
He had also authored several books including “Aayina-e-Bhatkal”.
