She was speaking after inaugurating the Ettin-2011, a National Level B-school festival at the Justice KS Hegde Institute of Management, Nitte. She said attitude makes the difference. It is the sum set of choices and beliefs of an individual that contributes to his overall personality, citing examples from today's corporate environment, she said, “Our entire life style today depends on the petroleum products”.
Budding managers being the future of tomorrow should develop concern for fellow beings and planet she added.
She said that a manager is a differentiator. When he takes a management decision, he should always think how he can create a difference and how it does influence the environment. Indian way of thinking and living with the object of Vasudaiva Kutumbakam (entire world our family) is more relevant today than before, she stressed.
Presiding over the function, Dr NK Thingalaya, a noted economist and Chairman of the Academic council of the Institute called upon the budding managers to be very broad based in their thinking. He said competition is the order of the day. Wisdom should prevail upon when making a decision, he added. Director of the Institute AVM Prof K Ramesh Karnik welcomed. Faculty Co-ordinator of Ettin- 2011, Prof Sudhir M briefed about the various innovative tool kit of competitions held in the functional areas of management to test the mettle of budding managers.
