Kundapur: Son murders father

Kundapur, March 7: Kundapur police have taken a youth into custody for killing his 75 year old father at Neralakatte here.

The accused is Sukesh Hegde (33), son of Raviraj Hegde, a resident of Jaddina Kodlu, Karkunje village in the taluk.

Raviraj, an agriculturist by profession, was a former trustee of Saukoor Goddess Durgaparameshwari temple and convenor of Saukoor Yakshagana troupe.

It is reported that Sukehsh had attacked his father more than once in the past too as quarrels frequently used to break out between them and Kundapur police had already registered a couple of cases against him in.

On Sunday night Sukesh went to his father's house and bludgeoned him to death using a steel chair after having a heated debate over a property dispute.

Kundapur police, who have registered a case of murder against Sukesh, said that he was angered by the act of his father, who had personally registered a complaint against him over the theft of areca nut at home.
