Manipal, March 8: Medical Laboratory Technology provides critical information enabling physicians to diagnose, treat and monitor a patients' condition. Laboratory methods have developed as hi-tech as any other technology, said Dr K Ramnarayan, Vice Chancellor of Manipal University. He was speaking after inaugurating 'Explore-2011', the Annual Workshop on Insights in to the recent developments in the Clinical Laboratory Science, organized by the Department of Medical Lab Technology of Manipal College of Allied Health Sciences, a constituent college of Manipal University.
Lauding the college as the most vibrant institution in the campus, he emphasized on the importance and relevance of Knowledge Update and proper communication between Medical Technologists and Physicians in health care. On this occasion, the Departmental Annual magazine 'GENESIS'was released.
Dr B Rajashekhar, Dean, Manipal College of Allied Health Sciences, welcomed the gathering.
Professor Sundar Sarukkai, Director Manipal College of Philosophy and Humanities, Professor Pragna Rao, Department of Biochemistry, KMC, Manipal, Joe Baby, Application Manager, Mindray, Mumbai and Dr Chiranjoy Mukhopadhyay, Professor and Head, Department of Microbiology, KMC, Manipal were the resource persons.
Dr Licy CD, Professor and Head of the Department and Kusumakshi Nayak, Organizing secretary of the workshop were present on the dais.
Over 100 delegates from various parts of the country participated in the workshop.
