Udupi, Mar 14: The host college, NMAM Institute of Technology emerged champion at the state level inter-collegiate Cultural and Literary extravaganza 'Anandotsava - 2011' hosted by Nitte Engineering College.
NMAM Institute of Technology scored 555 points. The second place was bagged by Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy, Mangalore scoring 180 points and the third place won by Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering, Moodbidri with 105 points.
Principal of the college, Dr SY Kulkarni in his presidential address focused on the importance of students' interpersonal skills and cultural values. He also stated that Anandotsava is an effort to build the 25 per cent of skills in students what companies and country are looking for.
804 students from 33 colleges from across the state participated in this festival.
Out of participated colleges, only 20 were in the prize list. As the Champions were from the host college, as per the college rules, the champion trophy was handed over to the first runner up- Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy, Mangalore.
During this occasion, “Laheri Band” enthralled the audience.
