Six hospitalised after students clash in college

Puttur, March 18: At least six persons were hospitalised after a fierce clash between two groups of students on Thursday at the Government First Grade Collge in Bettampady near here.
Sources within the college said that a heated exchange of words between two groups belonging to two separate communities over the appearance of handwritings about a particular students' organisation on the desks, led to the clash.
Azeez, Sameer and Muneer, all final year BBM students, who have been admitted at a government hospital with minor injuries, said that when they returned to their class after lunch break, their classmates Kishor, Mahesh and Nikesh attacked them using a cricket bat after accusing them of writing unwanted words on desks about an organisation, which they belong to.
On the other hand, Ganesh, Abhilash and Kishor, students of II year BSW, final year BSW and final year BBM, who also got admitted to a hospital after the clash, accused Azeez, Sameer and Muneer of assaulting on them.
Sampya police have registered complaints lodged by the both sides.
