Qazi death: CBI team inspects Chembarikka beach rocks
March 26, 2011
The body of Qazi was spotted on the Chembarika beach near the rock on the morning of February 15, 2010. The case was first investigated by the police and was handed over to the Crime Branch following allegations of murder. As the Crime Branch police too failed to come up with any clues on his death the case was handed over to the CBI last year.
The CBI team examined the spot on the rock where his walking stick and footwear were found. A large number of local people gathered on the spot on hearing about the news of the visit of the CBI team.
The CBI sleuths and its eight-member technical team from Delhi measured the distance from the road to the rock and conducted experiments using dummy. They measured the height of the rock and the distance from the rock to the sea.
The CBI officials then visited the house of Chembarikka Ustad and inspected the room where he stayed on the eve of his death.
