Mangalore, March 31: The Commissioner of Mangalore City Corporation K.N. Vijayaprakash on Wednesday inspected some roadworks taken up by the civic body under the first instalment of Rs. 100 crore special grant to it.
He inspected roads laid with interlocks and asphalted ones. The Commissioner inspected the works before finalising the bills of respective contractors. The Commissioner inspected the interlock works at Jeppupatna and behind Daivajna Kalyana Mantapa in Urwa long lane. The tar road works were inspected at Morgan's Gate, Subhash Nagara, Jeppu Bappal and Bejai Anegundi.
At Bejai Anegundi, he observed variation in the thickness of paver finished road and instructed engineers to correct it. The Commissioner said Gourimath Road in Court ward was in good condition and there was no need to take up paver finishing works on that road. He told the engineers that it would had been enough if they would had filled up potholes on the road. He told the engineers that there were some other bad roads in the city. The amount could had been used in developing them.
