According to his parents, the treating doctor— a senior paediatrician— did not pay proper attention to their baby.
Moksha, the deceased was daughter of Yuvraj and Sumithra of Mudipu.
The baby was admitted at RAPCC on June 11 with complaints of vomiting and convulsions.
But after two days of admission at the hospital, the baby slipped in to an unconscious condition. Later she was put into ventilator. Though three child specialists, including Dr Ganesh Pai, Dr Shantharam Baliga and Dr Ali Kumble struggled to save the ailing child, Moksha breathed her last on Friday.
But the parents of the deceased child were unable to come to terms with their daughter's death. They began accusing doctors and charged that their child was a victim of medical negligence.
Wenlock medical superintendent Dr Saroja clarified that the baby was referred RAPCC by doctors from Bantwal on June 11. “Though the baby received timely treatment from specialists, unfortunately she could not be saved” Saroja clarified.
The allegations against the doctors and the hospital by the parents of the baby are baseless, she said.
