Mangalore, June 24: Popular Front of India (PFI) has condemned the murder of students in Hunsur and urged the police to take stringent action against the criminals involved regardless of what community or organization they belong to. Elyas Muhammad, state president of PFI, categorically asserted that PFI has no connection with the incident and media reports that the accused had the motive of collecting funds for the organization through the crime is baseless.
Elyas stated that Karnataka Forum for Dignity (KFD) had merged with PFI in 2006 itself and there is no organization running under the name of KFD now. Elyas stated that the sources of finance for PFI are monthly contributions of its members and donations from the public. PFI organizes youths and reforms them by creating awareness against drugs, gambling, criminal activities and social evils. The organization brings youths to the social mainstream.
