Govt. sanctions developmental projects under Rs 25 crore

Udupi, Jun 24: Government has given its technical sanction to the developmental projects to be taken up under the Rs 25 crore grant sanctioned by the Chief Minister as a Diamond Jubilee grant to Udupi Municipality, said Udupi MLA K Raghupathi Bhat.

He was speaking after offering bhoomi pooja to the construction of an over head tank at Manipal to supply water to Vijaya Nagara, Vidyarathna Nagar and Saralebettu wards and 80 Badagubettu village.

The overhead tank will be built at a cost of Rs 1 crore, from the Diamond Jubilee fund.

Under the CM's fund Gundibail-Kalsanka road will be widened at a cost of Rs 8 crores, Malpe-Padukare bridge will be built at a cost of Rs 7 crore and Parkala road will be widened at a cost of Rs 3 crore.

President of Udupi CMC Kiran Kumar, Vice President Bharathi Chandrashekhar, Commissioner Gokuldas Nayak, Executive Engineer of Water Board AL Anand, Standing Committee President Naveen Bhandary, ZP member Upendra Nayak and others were present.
