The minister, who inspected the central market, fish market and meat market in the morning also met with hawkers near city bus terminus.
He urged the vendors of fruit, vegetable, fish and meat to maintain cleanliness in the surroundings and not to dump wastes in the public places.
He said that hawkers should make sure that they would not create sanitation problem in any parts of the city.
When media persons asked about the fate of street vendors, evicted by the civic tiger of Mangalore City Corporation in the recent months from city bus terminus area, he said district administration and MCC would resolve the issue as soon as possible.
“A meeting would be called soon, in which MCC Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner would participate among other officials,” he said adding that alternative arrangements for the deserved vendors will be considered in the meeting.
