Mangalore, June 29: Since Yeddyurappa has support of money and RSS it is not easy to step him down from the power, opined Kagodu Thimmappa, senior congress leader.
Addressing the party workers here recently, he said the party workers should make “Congress Nadige, Janara Balige” a success in the state.
He admitted that Yeddyurappa could not be defeated easily as he has the support of caste and mutts behind him. Calling upon the congress workers to be ready to face the challenge, he said “Congress Nadige, Janara Balige” is the first phase of a programme to go closer to the voters at the grassroot level. In the second phase, training will be provided to the party workers.
During “Congress Nadige, Janara Balige” the workers should listen to the woes of villagers and try to find a solution to the problems. If the programmes attain successes in the state, then it would be extended to at the national level, he said.
Listing out the achievements and schemes introduced by the Congress, Thimmappa said it was Congress which introduced Land Reforms Act. However, he said, the land owners have forgotten the past. Though Congress introduced MGNREGS, it has not seen much success in the state. He said that it was need of the hour to highlight the failure of the state government in implementing the schemes of UPA government.
Congress District President Ramanath Rai said all UPA government sponsored programmes are projected as State government programmes in Karnataka.
