Mangalore, July 10: The unsolved mother-daughter duo murder case took a new and sensational twist, when a Dalit body accused the Mangalore City Police of torturing two teenagers in the pretext of interrogation.
A group of Dalits led by SP Anand, District Convener of Dalit Sangharsha Samiti on Saturday evening met City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh and complained that Kavoor police have unnecessarily tortured Sanu of Panjimogeru and Sulil of Kulur while questioning them regarding the case of Razia (35) and her daughter Fathima Zuha (8), who were brutally murdered in broad daylight at their house in Panjimogeru near Kulur on June 28.
Mr Anand alleged the police of taking the two boys to deserted places, and forcing them to admit their hand in the double murder.
He said that both the boys were afraid and were admitted to Government Wenlock Hospital for treatment after police dropped them near Bikarnakatte.
Panambur ACP Puttamadaiah said that the torture allegation against police would be considered seriously and disciplinary measures would be taken if any police personnel proved to be guilty.
