Mangalore MLA U T Khader, who was also part of the delegation, said that they appealed the minister to make provision for the reservation for SC/ST in the appointment of judges in Supreme Court and High Courts.
The committee also brought to minsters notice that the welfare schemes are not fully implemented because of the lack of law to punish the officer who failed implement the schemes.
The delegation also urged the minster to make an effective law to punish the officers who do not take interest in implementing the welfare schemes.
They also appreciated the Union Minster's concern towards the SC/ST and other backward communities.
Gopal Bhandary, Veeraihya, Valmiki Naik, Subhash Guttedar, Rudresh Gowda, Chikkamadu, Shankarappa, Srinivas Gubbi, Sajjan kumar, Deputy Secretary of Karnataka Vidhana Sabha Mr Chinnaswami and Mohan Kumar were also present on the occasion.
The Law Minister assured the delegation that he would go through the request made by Committee and do the needful within the frame of constitution.
