Mangalore, July 25: Absorbing the essence of religious and spiritual scriptures is essential to succeed in one's life, opined N Yogish Bhat, Deputy Speaker of Karnataka Legislative Assembly.
He was speaking after inaugurating "Kumaravyasa Anusandhana", organised under the joint auspices of Dakshina Kannada district Kannada Sahitya Parishat and Literary and Cultural club of Government PU College, Car Street, here recently.
Students should take help from the wisdom of religious scriptures, which motivate a people towards success, he said.
Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, President of Dakshina Kannada District of Kannada Sahitya Parishat, said that students should study the lives of great poets such as Kumaravyasa, which will add value to life. He said students must stop being narrow minded and urged them to develop a broad mindset.
P P Joseph, Principal of Kavoor Government PU College, was the chief guest. Elwira Philomena, Principal of Government PU college, Car Street, K K Leelavathi, Secretary of Literary and Cultural Club and Padmashree, Student Secretary were among those present.
The programme was followed by the recitation of "Kumaravyasa Bharatha" by Gamaka artiste Yagnesh Suratkal and Seraje Seetharam Bhat.
