Ullal, August 4: Ullal police have arrested two persons on Wednesday on charge of killing a youth near a shop in the town last Saturday night.
The arrested have been identified as Bharatesh Bangera, and his brother-in-law Ahswin Putran. The duo had gone missing since the last three days.
22-year old Shrikanth Kanchan was allegedly killed by the duo, who were upset over his love affair.
Srikanth, a resident of Mogaveerapatna near Ullal, was a fisherman and a partner of a purse seine fishing boat. He was in love with Bharatesh's sister .
The girl's family expressed their displeasure on the affair and frequent tiffs used to take place on the matter.
On Saturday evening, when Srikanth was speaking with his friend, he received a call on his mobile by the accused who asked him to come near his house.
When he was walking in the lane Bharateesh and Ashwin confronted Srikanth and after a verbal duel, they stabbed him with a knife near his heart and later fled from the spot. A group who were enraged with the cruel act of the alleged murderers surrounded their house and threw their things into the sea.
