Udupi, August 8: The district BJP unit has decided to extend a grand welcome to Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda when he visits the district soon.

Addressing a press meet, President Uday Kumar Shetty said the CM is likely to visit the district within 8 to 10 days. He will be given a grand welcome at the welcome arch of Udupi district and later taken in an open jeep from Hejamady to Udupi. “We are happy over D V Sadananda Gowda becoming the Chief Minister. His contribution to the development of the party as a state BJP president has given him this post. We are sure that he will undertake several developmental works in the district.”

To a query on whether there is any possibility of a new face in the Cabinet berth in the new ministry, he said: “Though we have not made any demand so far, we will submit a list of our demands for the development of the district.” To another query on whether any one from Udupi will leave their constituency to allow D V Sadananda Gowda to contest for the election in the next six months, he said “we have not discussed the issue so far. Who will not give when Chief Minister wants to contest,” he said.
