Mangalore, August 8: At least 15 pawans of gold jewelleries were robbed from a house in broad daylight at Pajiru Perna under Konaje Police Station limits on Sunday.
The house belongs to one Dennis Alphonse, who works in a gulf country. His wife Doti, son Denwar, brother Everest and mother Rosalyn D'Souza stay in the house. The incident occurred at 7:30 am when the family members had been to attend a mass at Pajeer Church leaving behind 11 year old Denwar and sick Rosalyn.
When Denwar was busy in watching TV, three strangers visited the house and asked for Dennis. Denver informed them that he was away and went back to watch TV.
One among the three miscreants caught Denver unaware, entered the house slowly, broke the cupboard and looted the jewelleries.
Denver was alarmed by the noise but was stopped and threatened by another thief waiting outside the house.
By the time Rosalyn, who was unwell came out from her room, thieves had made away with 25 pawans of gold jwellaries.
Sub-Inspector Shivapraksh and staff of Konaje Police Station investigated the scene, while finger print experts were called in.
A case has been lodged at the Konaje Police Station.
