Mangalore, August 9: Dakshina Kannada district Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes Organisations' Federation has strongly demanded a ministerial berth for four-time MLA from Sullia constituency S Angara in the D V Sadananda Gowda led cabinet.
Addressing the media persons here on Tuesday Federation's President Nirmal Kumar said that Mr Angara has all qualification to become a minister and his seniority as a MLA should be given due weightage during the next expansion of the cabinet.
Karnataka Dalit Sangharsh Samiti (Bhimvad) leader P Keshav said that although the Sullia Assembly Constituency has been reserved for scheduled caste candidates since past several years, none of the elected representatives from this constituency was given any ministerial berth so far.
Other office bearers of the Federation Krishnappa Derabail, SP Anand and Koira Balepuni, who were present in the press meet maintained stating that they have represented the matter orally and in writing to Mr Gowda.
