Karkala, August 13: Three more people were arrested in connection with the brutal murder of Hussain, a car driver from Kabettu on Thursday morning by the Karkala police. The deceased was physically tortured and his genitals cut off.
Two of the accused including the main accused Banglegudde Suleiman (33) along with Sikander Kabettu (19) are still absconding.
Police raided the house of Sattar from Kaup after they were informed that Mohammed Ansar alias Antu (22), Hamzath Kaup (23) and Abdul Sattar Kaup (25) were in hiding there and arrested the accused. Rafeeq from Banglegudde (19), Badruddin Kaudur (28), Ashraf Bailur (24) and Thoufeeq Bailur (21) were arrested a few days ago.
Banglegudde Suleiman is wanted by the police in connection with two murder cases and ten cases have been registered against him in Bantwal and Karkala police stations.
Suleiman had plotted to loot money from Hussain, a resident of Kabettu and a car driver by profession and had hired his car and took him to a deserted place near Hosanagar of Shimoga district. When Hussein declined to give them money they physically tortured him resulting in his death.
They discarded his corpse in River Thungabhadra and fled the scene.
Post-mortem report has confirmed that Hussain was physically tortured. His leg was cut off and his genitals removed before Hussain succumbed to his injuries.
Police have formed a special team to catch Suleiman and Sikander. Police have also taken steps to prevent the escape of Suleiman abroad.
