Mangalore, August 18: District in-charge minister Krishna J. Palemar has paid a surprise visit to the Taluk Office and examined the work of the staff.
The move comes in the wake of chief minister Sadananda Gowda's assertion a few days ago that all the files should be handled within 15 days.
Mr. Palemar uged the officers and staff at the Taluk Office not to keep any work pending beyond 15 days and warned of stern action if any officer is found guilty of violating this norm.
Speaking to the media after the raid, Mr Palemar said, the government staff should not inconvenience people. The files should be processed within 15 days. Action, including suspension, will be taken against erring officials. I have warned the officers during today's raid, he said.
