Mangalore, August 19: The police have arrested three more people in connection with the attack on partygoers at a farmhouse in Someshwar, Uchil.
The trio have been identified as Ganesh Kumpal, Yogish Kuthar and Suresh Pumpwell. The police had earlier arrested Rajesh Kuttar, Ranjeet Bejai, Sagar Sanil Maroli, Pavitrakumar Kerubailgudde, Jeevanraj Kerubailgudde, and Harsihit Poojary in connection with the case.
With the arrest of trio on Wednesday, the number of people rounded up in the case has gone up to nine. The police are also looking for Sharan Pumpwell, the district convener of Bajrang Dal, who was also present during the raid by the activists allegedly as a crackdown on drug abuse.
The gang had also been accused of decamping with cash and mobile phones, besides destroying furniture and other valuables causing an estimated loss of Rs. 3 lakh.
One person was grievously injured and several others sustained minor injuries in the incident.
The police have take action against the accused following a complaint filed by Dayanand, the caretaker of the farmhouse.
