JD(S), CPI and CPI (M) members participated in the protest in front of the office of Deputy Commissioner in Mangalore and shouted slogans against the Central government.
In Udupi the protest was held at Service Bus stand.
CPI (M) District Secretary K Shankar said that a section of upper class youth, who used to remain away from the issues relating to common man, joining hands with Anna Hazare is a good development.
He also said that all that Anna said was not right. It has both advantages and disadvantages. One should not be under the impression that corruption would be wiped immediately after the Jan Lokpal bill was passed.
