Belthangady, August 27: District-in-Charge Minister Krishna Palemar paid surprise visits to various departments in Belthangady and took the officials to taks for delay in clearing the files.
When the Minister realised that there was rampant corruption in taluk office and the files are disposed very late, he warned the officials.
He found few files pending for the last four months and urged the officials to dispose all the pending files within 15 days. The minister also visited sub registrar's office, Nemmadi kendra and horticulture department.
He said that if there was any loopholes in the functioning, then the officials will be suspended and criminal case will be filed against them.
He said that Dakshina Kannada will be made a model district in the State. “I pay surprise visit to the government offices to review the working condition. If I get complaint on delay in clearing the files, then stringent action will be taken against the officials.”
The government had released a sum of Rs 25 lakh for maintaining a record room in Mangalore taluk office. Similar system will be started in Belthangady.
“The contract of Nemmadi kendra will come to an end within a month. The government will take over the functioning of Nemmadi Kendra from October. All the loopholes in the functioning of the Nemmadi Kendra will be set right. The officials concerned will be held responsible if there was any mistake in the ration card. The government is also planning to set up Nemmadi Kendras at the gram panchayat level.”
