Puttur, August 29: In another incident of moral policing and religious goondagiri, four people have been assaulted by a gang for allegedly indulging in conversion before being handed over to the police in Nidle near Uppinangady on Sunday.
The Upppinangady police have arrested the four and booked cases against them on the basis of a complaint filed by Praveen Boodujalu.
Mary (60), a resident of Mundrupadi in Dharmasthala, along with her son K.G. Kunjimonu (30), daughter in law Lenny (23) and B.T. Sainu (34), a resident of Kalanja, were brutally beaten up by the gang for trying to convert people into Christianity in Puttur and Belthangady areas by a gang.
The quartet were roughed up by the gang when they were allegedly trying to lure people into Christianity at a Dalit colony in Boodujalu in Nidle.
