The programme was celebrated at CV Nayak Hall on Sunday in which over hundreds of traditionally dressed Malayalis participated. The event was organized by Kerala Samajam, which has around 3,000 members in city.
The half day-long event included screening of short film on Mangalore city and the origins of the Kerala Samajam, and cultural programme.
Children presented dances, in groups and solo, besides singing group songs. "Thiruvathira" performance by women enthralled the audience.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramnath Pradeep, Chairman and Managing Director of Corporation Bank, said cultural activities like feast bring people together and get brotherly relation.
Lekshmi Kumaran, Deputy General Manager, Corporate Communications, MRPL, said celebrating public feast like Onam helps others to learn the value of relations.
TK Rajan, President, Kerala Samajam, presided over the programme.
