Mangalore September 13: T R S Kumar, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, Mangalore region, conducted a Bhavishya Nidhi Adalat at Bhavishyanidhi Bhavan here on Monday.
Kumar said that a total of five cases were taken up during the adalat. All cases were related to anomalies in date of birth certificates attached by members in the application for pension.
“Pension application will be rejected if there is any mismatch in the date of birth certificate. We seek clarification from the members and pension will be sanctioned only after the verification of date of birth certificates through school”, he explained.
He said that there is no confusion with regard to the date of birth certificates of members, who have registered after 1995. Earlier there were no strict rules regarding birth certificates. However, now it has been made compulsory to check birth certificates before sanctioning pension to members.
Members can submit copy of school transfer certificate, issued by the local government to prove their age, he added.
