Brahmavar, October 3: Following the pressure by Billava community leaders, who demanded a higher level probe into the suicide case of young athlete Prithvi Amparu, the Inspector General of Polce (Western Range) Alok Mohan on Sunday handed over the case to Kundapur ASP Ram Nivas Sepet.
Accordingly, IPS officer Sepet visited Brahmavar on Sunday for investigation. He gathered more information about the incident, after interrogating SMS College Hostel warden and students and has collected more information.
He is expected to pay a second visit to Brahmavar College later on Monday and continue the investigation. He will also be visiting Prithvi's house at Amparu to collect information from her family.
Meanwhile, Udupi District In charge Minister V S Acharya urged the Superintendent of Police Dr. Ravikumar to speed up the investigation.
When a delegation including Katapadi Vishvanatha Abhivruddi Kshetha Secretary Krishna Sunil, Zilla Panchayath President Katapadi Shankar Poojari and former minister Vasantha Salyan met the minister, he telephoned the SP and asked to try his best to find out the truth.
