Mangalore, October 4: Unknown miscreants broke into Shri Rama Temple located at Car Street Square in the city and decamped with a gold chain weighing one and a half pawan worth Rs.24, 500 on Sunday night.
The thieves gained entry into the Temple after breaking the rods of a window and stole a golden chain that was on idol of Shri Ram.
The burglary came to light on Monday morning.
Mangalore North Police registered a case based on a complaint filed by Mangal Das Gulwadi, the supervisor of the Temple and investigation is in process.
