Suratkal, October, 6: Two girls have lost their lives in two different separate road accidents on Wednesday evening.
Carrol, a 9 year old girl died on spot when a speeding lorry hit an Activa moving in the same direction near NITK around 7 pm.
The tragic incident took place when Barnard D'Souza, a resident at Konaje was going to Udupi from Mangalore along with Carrel.
According to eyewitness a front wheel of the lorry ran over the head of little girl after she was thrown on the road.
Barnard suffered injuries on his leg, hands and head in the accident. He was rushed to a nearby hospital by local people.
In another tragedy, occurred around 5:30 pm on the same day another 9-year-old girl, Ashwini, died after being hit by a speeding WagonR on the main road.
Although a critically injured Ashwini was rushed to a private hospital in Mangalore after first aid treatment in a local hospital, she breathed her last around 7 pm.
The incident occurred, when she visited Suratkal with her parents Hanumanth Subekar and Shivaganga, residents of 6th blcok Krishnapura.
