Mangalore, October 11: A daily wage worker on Tuesday morning was found murdered in an under construction building near Hampanakatta in the city.
Police identified the deceased as Ramesh Poojary (42), from Karkala.
Sever injuries on the face and head, indicate that miscreants might have killed him by smashing with a boulder.
It is said that Poojary and few other daily wage labours used to sleep in the half constructed building located near Felix Pai every night since several weeks.
Local people, who saw a dead body in the first floor of the building in the morning informed local police, who rushed to the spot and shifted it to the mortuary of Government Wenlcok Hospital for post-mortem.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Ravindra Gadadi, Mangalore North Police Station Sub Inspector Ramakrishna and constables visited the spot as part of investigation. Sniffer dogs were also pressed into action.
A case has been registered at Mangalore North Police Station.
