Mangalore, October 11: South Kanara District Chess Association (SKDCA) in association with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan conducted a one day inter-district chess tournament at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mangalore on Tuesday.
In the prize distribution programme, chief guest MS Gururaj, president, UKCA, said “SKDCA has set high standards in organising chess events.
“Players should make use of such tournaments” he added.
President of SKDCA Dr Jessy M D'Souza welcomed the gathering. Sumith Bhat was the arbiter for the tournament.
Top seed master Sharan Rao emerged as the champion. Master Pangal Gopalkrishna Nayak and Master Vishruth sham got second and third place respectively.
