Puttur, October, 12: Pushpagiri Vanyadhama project which has created apprehension among the farmers has been dropped by the government said the Chief Minister D V Sadhananda Gowda.
Addressing the presspersons in Puttur, he said that now the farmers can be relaxed as the proposal for the expansion of the Pushpagiri Vanyadhama project has been already rejected and the government would not consider it anymore.
He also said that any new project has not been announced after he assumed the power as Chief Minister. “The new projects will be announced only in the next Budget”, he said.
It can be recalled that the simultaneous protests were organized by the Pushpagiri Santrastara Horata Samithi in front of 18 Gram Panchayat offices in Puttur, Belthangady and Sullya Taluks coming under Uppinangady and Subrahamanya forest areas opposing the government's proposed Pushpagiri Vanyadhama Project.
