Mangalore, October 14: In all, 90 passengers bound for Mumbai from Mangalore could not travel on Thursday as the Kingfisher Airlines in which they had been scheduled to fly did not take off in the afternoon because of an issue related to re-fuelling, sources in the airport said.
Sources said that Hindustan Petroleum refused to re-fuel the aircraft as the airlines had not cleared its dues. The aircraft from Mumbai had to land here at 2.55 p.m. But it landed late at 4.55 p.m.
ources said the airlines refunded the fare to passengers as the flight could not take off. The aircraft was at the airport till late evening.
Airport manager of Kingfisher Airlines Ltd Geo George Emmatty refused to comment.
