Kasargod, Oct 14: A memorandum was submitted to Railway South Zone General Manager Deepak Kishan by Various organisations led by MP P Karunakaran on Friday demanding more trains in the Malabar sector and stop for important trains at the Kasargod station.
The memorandum demanded starting of the proposed Kannur-Mangalore passenger train to ease the travel problems of the passengers especially students commuting to Mangalore.
The memorandum also urged the general manager to start more passenger facilities at the station and starting of the proposed Palakkad-Mangalore Intercity Express.
The memorandum also demanded stop for the Prasuram Express in Kottilulam, Manjeswaram, Bekal and Uppla.
The Kerala Association of Travel Agents state vice-president N A Sulaiman urged the general manager to allow a stop for the Rajdani Express which is a long pending demand of the people of the area. He also demanded more trains in the route in both Mangalore and Kanuur side from 11am to 4pm.
He said in a memorandum to add more compartments to the trains.
