Food poisoning: 40 BAMS students hospitalised in city

Mangalore, October 21: As many as 40 students of an Ayurveda college in the city were taken to hospitals for allegedly suffering from food poisoning at after attending a farewell party.

Most of the victims suffered from stomach and chest pains, diarrhoea and vomiting, sources said.

According to the police, over 100 students attended a farewell function near Urwa Stores for an outgoing batch of BAMS.

After the function, the students had food, supplied by a city based hotel. “After having food, around 40 students complained of diarrhoea and got admitted to the hospital”, said police.
