Mangalore, October 24: The Janata Dal (Secular) workers staged a dharna in front of Town Hall here on Sunday against the alleged failure of the State government in administration.
M.G. Hegde, spokesperson of the district unit of the party and general secretary of the State unit, said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the State was a party of businessmen. Hence the government managed by it was business-minded and encouraged corruption.
He said the government had promised to supply power to farmers for 12 hours for free. But it had failed in it, he said.
The Government has failed to supply uninterrupted power to those consumers who paid for it. The BJP had failed in managing the administration. People were confused as to who was ruling the state.
JD(S) district unit president M.B. Sadashiva, leaders including D.M. Aslam, were present.
