Mangalore, October 30: The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of Lourdes Central School organised a farewell programme to the outgoing principal Grace Noronha on Saturday on the school premises.
Krishna J Palemar, district in-charge minister, DK was the chief guest. Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza, Bishop of Mangalore would preside over the function.
Prof Shivashankar Murthy, vice chancellor of Mangalore University and Seemanth Kumar Singh, commissioner of Mangalore police were the guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Ivan D'Souza, president of PTA said that Grace Noronha has been role model and inspired many teachers and students. Her legacies of mind would surely endure in defining the essential spirit of Lourdes Central School, he added.
Grace, who served as the first principal of the institution for last 12 years, was given a warm felicitation on the occasion. In her address, she expressed gratitude to the school, Fr Bernard L D'Souza, the founder of the school.
Sharika Bhandary, vice-president, PTA, Dr Edward Louis and Pratham Bhandary, Committee members were also present among others.
