Rasheed selected for international broadcasters' meet

Madikeri, October 31: Abdul Rasheed, renowned Kannada writer and the programme executive at the Madikeri station of All India Radio, has been selected for the international broadcasters' convention to be held in New Delhi from November 20 to 27.

The convention is being hosted by Asia Pacific Broadcasters' Union. Rasheed will present a paper on “What the listeners expect from local radio stations?”. Delegates from 58 countries from the Asia Pacific region will participate in the convention, which is being held annually at different cities of the world.

Rashid is one of the five young writers of this country who won the special Golden Jubilee Award of Sahitya Akademi recently.

He studied BA in Journalism, English Literature and Public Administration at Maharaja's College, Mysore during 1982-85, followed by MA in English Literature from the University of Mysore during 1986-88.
