Mangalore, November 10: The United Friends Bejai in association with Dakshina Kannada Zilla Volleyball Association will organise a State-level flood light volleyball tournament at Lourdes Central School Grounds in Bejai on November 12 at 6.30 pm.
Addressing media persons here on Wednesday, United Friends Bejai President John Fernandes said that the tourney, being held as a part of their 22nd annual celebration, will be inaugurated by Dakshina Kannada District- in-Charge Minister Krishna J Palemar while St Francis Xavier Church Parish Priest Rev Dr Victor J Machado, Mangalore Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh and Shree Devi Education Trust Chairman A Sadananda Shetty among others will participate as guests.
Attractive prizes
Organisation Convenor Victor Rego said that, 12 teams from different parts of the State will participate in the tournament.
“The winners will get the prize money of Rs 44,444 and a trophy while first runners up will get Rs 33,333 and a trophy and second and third runners up will get Rs 22,222 and Rs 11,111 and a trophy respectively.
Besides, there will be other individual prizes, Rego informed.
Tournament Administrator C J Lobo said that the The United Friends Bejai donates funds to cancer patients and it will be used for the education of poor children.
